Name: Alfie |
She would love to be your lap dog but she must have lots of exercise so an active household is a must. I haven't tried her with children, but I suspect she would be just fine with them. Alfie will need some reassurance for the first couple of weeks after she goes to a new home as she does get a bit anxious when left alone. It would be nice if she had another companion dog or someone who was home a lot. She is crate trained and house trained. An all around great little dog! |

She is good with cats and other dogs and extremely tolerant of little kids. Other than a slight tendency to nibble unattended shoes she is well behaved in the house once she is taught the rules. Outside her hound nose can lead her astray but she is very people oriented and seems to want to please. As a result her recall is getting pretty good. Gretel loves people and we'd like her to go to a home where she will be able to hang out with her humans most of the time.Gretel is a Mosaic Rescue dog. You can't help but smile when you look at Grif with his scruffy hairdo, short little legs (the front ones turn out) and his joyful bounce. He's adorable and has a personality to match. He's great with other dogs and is often the first to initiate play and is a champion "cuddle bunny" with people. Although he has a terrier heritage he's missing the super active gene and is quite a quiet, calm boy with good house manners. Grif likes to hang out with his people and has already earned some off leash privileges in places that are safe. He'll be the perfect companion for someone he can be with most of the time. Grif is a Mosaic Rescue dog. For more information about him, Mosaic Rescue and the adoption process go to www.mosaicrescue.ca or click on the banner below. |

Sugar is a lovely lady, estimated at 8 years old, and under 20lbs. She is wonderful in the house, and out and about - though she does like to get a good look at squirrels! Sugar is looking for a forever home that will treat her like the princess she is. She loves to be with her people all the time, and at her foster home she is like a quiet little shadow, but will retreat to her bed once you're busy with something else. She does bark a bit when left alone, as she doesn't think it's fair that you have fun without her! Sugar sleeps in her bed all night, and isn't an early riser! She is a ready made dog who will be an easy addition in any family. Good with kids, dogs and cats, she's a real catch! (though she's not really great at fetch). Contact BullyBuddies for more info - Sugar is fostered in Victoria. Potential homes will require a reference check and a home visit. |

Shaggy is a very quiet, very sweet purebred Lhasa Apso who needs a new forever home. He is pure white with tan ears, and 19 pounds of pure love. He is 6 years old, has been with the same family since he was a puppy, but due to family issues, was relinquished to a small dog rescue in Burnaby. It was evident that he was not cared for properly by his original owner and a kind friend of the owner turned him over to the rescue in April. He had an infection in his mouth from his tongue and lip being cut by a groomer which went untreated. |

Please help find dear sweet Abby her new forever home..... Abby is an estimated 4-5yr female Miniature Pinscher. She is fearful of large dogs & will bark excitedly when she sees them & she does not do well around cats (or any other prey animal) as she will chase, corner & bark aggressively towards them. She is also a fearful barker towards large groups of people, joggers & cyclists, but I am confident that this behaviour can be turned around with proper, frequent socializing. She gets along with small dogs & loves to play with her toys. She is a very affectionate little girl when she is comfortable with you (which fortunately does not take long) & loves to be cuddled & in a warm lap (any known lap will do) she also offers continual free kisses!! However due to her neglectful history of being bred & confined to a small crate & bathtub she has a habit that was learned during this horrible time in her life, she "spins". When a dog repeatedly spins they develop this "coping" behaviour out of complete frustration & stress. I am hopeful that with the right home, love & attention this behaviour will become less frequently. She also has a small bladder so she will need a frequent bathroom schedule to prevent accidents from occurring in the house. I am hoping to find an experienced dog loving home where she will not be left alone for long periods of time nor will she ever be confined to a crate or any other small enclosure ever again. I also believe that she would do best in a calm & quiet home with no young children as Abby's current high anxieties should become reduced if her environment is not busy. If you feel that you are Abby's forever loving home please contact; Angella; [email protected] or 250-474-9376 |

Mr. Big- 2 year old, 8 lb, terrier mix. He is sweet natured but wants to be an alpha and is food possessive which can be dealt with through training. Because of that he would not be a good match for small children. Because he has been recently neutered he is a bit territorial with the other recently neutered male he is being fostered with but he is great with all people and loves to snuggle and be a lap dog. He walks well on leash and seems to be housebroken so long as he is taken out on a regular basis. Cute!! [email protected] |

Zephyr7 year old male Formosan Mountain dog x 50 pounds, though should be closer to 40. Zephyr is a very affectionate, middle-aged man looking for a loyal, loving, forever family. He has spent most of his life in a shelter in Taiwan, and is very much enjoying the comforts of Canadian living. Zephyr does well with other dogs, though doesn't enjoy puppy antics. He ignores the barn cats, and doesn't seem to notice the chickens. He likes to lie at your feet and go for walks --don't let his age fool you, he is more than capable of going for an hour with you!-- But at the same time, he'd also be happy to curl up and watch TV. Zephyr is housetrained and is crate-trained for bed-time, although you might find him in there of his own accord from time to time. Zephyr is an easy-peezy lovely addition to most any home. Energy level: Low-Medium Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Yes Good with Children: Gentle Children. Probably would prefer no toddlers. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/22446741 |

Honey's past is uncertain but she has some emotional scars that give us an idea of how she lived. She is more comfortable around women than men, and she shows some uncertainty around other dogs. She really enjoys the company of dogs that are submissive, low-key, or indifferent to her, but she can be uncomfortable around dogs that are assertive, bouncy, or dominant. Honey needs to go to a home with someone who has experience working with dogs that need to build confidence. Honey forms strong bonds very quickly and gets sad when she's left alone, therefore, she will be happiest with a family where someone is home for most of the day to spend time with her (perhaps someone who has recently retired, or who works from home) or where there is another dog to keep her company. Honey is good around dog-savvy cats (indoors - she will chase them in they're outside) and |
