Animals In Need
Over the past 6 months Victoria Adoptables Dog Rescue has taken in a number of injured, sick or abandoned dogs. All required vet care and long-term foster homes. Below are just a few of the dogs and their stories. |

Bailey was brought into emergency vet care covered in bruises and a fractured tail. In the past 10 months this was the second attack on this friendly Golden Retriever. He is now recovering in Victoria Adoptables Dog Rescue care and is awaiting surgery with possible tail amputation. |

Kona suffered a fractured leg after a dog fight. He's currently in long-term foster care and recovering from his injury. |

Max came to us after being hit and dragged by a car. He needed months of extensive vet care, hydrotherapy, bandage changes and xrays. |

Banjo came into our care obese and requiring cruciate ligament surgery. He's currently recovering in foster care. |

Lily and Marshall came to us with a damaged, non-visual eye each due to trauma they suffered as tiny puppies. In order to avoid further complications their eyes had to be surgically removed. They are both awaiting new homes. |

Bridgette came to us after suffering seizures and being dumped at a pound. She is under the care of specialists at Can West Critical Care as well as a local veterinarian. She continues to receive vet care. |

Mike came to us after being hit by a car and his front leg had to be amputated. |

Muppet came into VADR care requiring surgery for a fractured front leg. An orthopedic surgeon repaired her leg with a plate. She continues to heal and will need further xrays and knee surgery in future.

Shylo arrived limping on 3 legs. After xrays it was determined she'd been suffering with 2 non-recent fractures and her hind leg needed to be amputated. |

Halo came to us from a pound on the mainland. She'd been hit by a car and required vet care, xrays and 7 weeks of crate rest. |
