MacDewey

Breed: Scottish Fold/British Shorthair?
Colour: White and Smoke
Age: 3 - 5 years
Size: Large

MacDewey came to us as a Scottish Fold; apparently not all Scottish Folds
have the folded ears, it is a genetic anomaly and I think that two Scottish
Folds with folded ears cannot produce live offspring, or something like
that. Not really into the breed thing.
More importantly is his disposition. His foster home says that he has a very
easy going temperament and he will tolerate their other cat but isn't crazy
about him. Dewey is quite affectionate and loves to be "on top" of you as if
he is the boss. His day is a mix of exploring and sleeping and he likes to
talk but it is a funny little meow and makes you smile!

Minni has an adoption pending

Minni is a tripod and she is one of the lucky ones, she survived.  Minni was found with a severely broken and shattered back leg.  The leg could not be saved, so the Vet in Kuwait removed Minni's leg.  She has completely healed and gets around so well, you'd never know she only had 3 legs.

She is a healthy 2 year old Torti, but what makes Minni unusual.......she likes other cats !  Minni is up to date on her shots, de-wormed and de-flead, micro chipped and spayed.  If we can find her a home, she will be arriving in Canada at the end of January.

Minni will need to strictly be an indoor cat.  No neighborhood prowling for this girl.

Olivia

Breed: DSH Torbey

Sex: Female

Age: About 10 Months

Size: Small

Olivia is one of the sweetest kittens you have ever met and one of the most beautiful...the photos really do not do her smokey greys and peach patches justice. This tiny little girl hasn't got a mean bone in her body. She is still quite shy due to her early experiences being a lot of veterinary care. This little girl, after being sick for several months was finally discovered to have a massive polyp in her nasal passage that was slowly suffocating her. After her lengthy medical ordeal, she is now completely recovered and is learning to play and enjoy life to its fullest, something she could not do before as she was struggling for every breath.. She will not approach people on her own but when she is feeling secure she loves to be stroked and will arch against your hand and purr her heart out. My feeling is that once she has completely settled in to her furever home she will really start to blossem. She is highly cat social and must go to a home where she will have some feline friends.

Katy

Breed: DSH Tortieshell

Sex: Female

Age: About 6 months

Katy is a low maintenance cat. She does not demand anything from you but is very grateful and really enjoys cuddling and petting, she just isn’t pushy about it. She is pretty unusual for a tortieshell as they often have “attitude.” Not Katy, she is amenable with the other cats, tolerates my dogs and loves to sleep quietly at the bottom of my bed. She is playful and will play for hours with dangling toys, she just isn’t pushy about it!

Noelle

Breed: DLH black and white

Sex: Female

Age: About 10 years.

On Christmas Eve, the people who had Noelle (they said she was left with them by their daughter who didn’t want her anymore) took her to a clinic to be euthanized as they said she was unfriendly and “feral.” The husband was joking that they would tell their daughter they found another home for her and not tell her she had been killed.

The kind staff at the Clinic contacted us and CCAR took this sweet, non-feral girl into our care. She is a quiet, gentle soul who will preen when you stroke her and sleeps by my side at night. She is a little scared by the other cats but will just hiss if they get too close. She has beautiful eyes and will stare into your soul. She knows she is safe but she would prefer her own place, ideally a permanent home but a foster home would be wonderful too. She had a full medical work up and came out with a clean bill of health. This girl deserves a wonderful life, she is not that old and with the right care, could easily live another 10 years.

Benson

Age: Approximately 10 years old

Breed: DLH black and white.

Size: Big and fluffy

Poor Benson was recently take to a vet to be euthanized because he could not handle the four very active dogs in the household since they were constantly harassing him. As a result of this harassment and stress, poor Benson become more and more withdrawn.  The owners, in their “wisdom” felt that the best thing to do for the cat was to kill him! Fortunately, the vet he was taken to recognized that there was no way this sweet guy’s life should be ended and she managed to get the owners to surrender him to her. He is currently at the Vet Clinic being well fed and cared for and already is showing that he is a gentle, quiet loving guy who craves attention. He will be getting dental work as he has mild periodontal disease, but we want to make sure he is relaxed and comfortable before subjecting him to this. If you are interested in adopting or fostering this sweet fellow, do call Joan. Cats Cradle Animal Rescue 250 656-1169

Samwise

Breed: DSH tabby and white

Sex: Male

Age: 3 – 4 years

Size: large

Foster home’s comments say it all:

Samwise is a wonderful, cuddly feline. He was initially very outgoing curious about his new surroundings, but has settled down nicely and spends most of his time sleeping on beds and couches – wherever he can be around people. He’s very low maintenance, but will follow you wherever you go (including into the bathroom: he seems to love water!). Sam’s a devoted and loyal little guy whi will make a great pet in almost any environment. This guy was found as a stray and obviously had a hard time and seemed really grateful to be getting attention and being warm and safe”

Erik

Age: About 10 weeks

Breed: DSH white and black

Sex: Male

Size: Kitten

Little Erik is living with a lot of adult cats right now and occasionally gets a swat around the ear when he gets too close. He is very respectful of the adult cats, comfortable with my dogs, likes nothing better to sit and snuggle on your knee or between my ankles for some reason. A typical playful, happy boy, he is going to be a well adjusted lovely adult cat.

Robbie is adopted

Moufette

Breed: DMH to DLH black and white

Sex: Female

Age: About 12 – 14 weeks

Moufette is a little shy when she first meets you but once she knows you and trusts you, she is a great lap cat. She also loves to play and run around but she will definitely take a little time to warm up to you. She currently lives in a home with older children and does really well with them. She is fine with other cats and would do better in a home with older children. Cats Cradle Animal Rescue 250 656-1169

Betty

Breed: DSH black and white

Sex: Female

Age: About 4 months

Size: Kitten

Little Betty is super friendly, fairly typical of most black and white cats. She readily purrs, has lots of energy, loves to play but is ready to cuddle if you want her to. An adorable kitten who will give you hours of enjoyment watching her antics, and then will collapse on your lap for a snuggle. Cats Cradle Animal Rescue 250 656-1169

Theo

Breed: DSH brown tabby male

Age: 4 – 5 months

Size:  Kitten

Friendly, confident, outgoing, cuddly, clever are just some of the adjectives foster mom Valerie used to describe little Theo. “He follows me everywhere like a little dog.”  This little guy would do well in almost any environment so go and meet him and see for yourself.
Cats Cradle Animal Rescue 250 656-1169

Steven

Breed: DSH Tabby with white

Age: About 4 – 5 months

Sex: Male

Size: Kitten

This boy is going to be a large adult as he is really a good size for his age now. He is a VERY friendly, outgoing kitten who loves to play and goof around. He loves everyone, is the first to head to the door to greet you when you arrive. An all around super kitten who will no doubt do well in almost any situation. Note his incredible markings!Cats Cradle Animal Rescue 250 656-1169

Kismet is adopted

Tobie

Age: About 9 months

Breed: DSH sleek black boy

Size: Medium

Tobie loves to play with Poptart, the foster home’s kitten,  preferably in the middle of the night.  Tobie is going to be a large cat, and has developed quite the personality.  He is very playful, but does not want to be handled.  When he wants to get petted, he will lay down somewhere and mewl for attention.  He loves to get petted, but only when he is ready for it. It was difficult to get too many photos of him as he is an active, independent little fellow who goes where he wants to, when he wants to.Cats Cradle Animal Rescue 250 656-1169

Vanessa

Breed: DSH black and white

Sex: Female

Age: About 2 years

Size: Medium

SWEET is the main adjective to describe Vanessa. Loveable, cuddly, friendly, non-confrontational would be more adjectives that would aptly describe her. She just follows me around, hoping for some attention, quietly sleeps on my bed at night and is just an all round lovely girl. If you want a low maintenance, easy going girl, she would be ideal. She is great with other cats and dogs.  Please note, the pictures absolutely do not do her justice! Come and meet her. Cats Cradle Animal Rescue 250 656-1169

Archie

Breed: DSH orange tabby with white

Age: About 18 months

Sex: Male

Size: Medium

Archie is a real sweet boy and just loves attention.  He will move from lap to lap for some petting.  He is quick to let you know when it is time for him to be fed by mewling and weaving between your legs until he gets his food.  He is very calm and is not too sure about dogs, but is learning to just ignore them.  He is very inquisitive, and he has to inspect everything!  Including the inside of the dishwasher, and it has happened a couple of times that he shut himself into a cupboard.  He is submissive to the other cats, but is coming out of his shell now and will sometimes plays with them.  I think he would do best somewhere where he will get lots of attention, he thrives on it! So, a family environment with children would be ideal for this boy.

 Cats Cradle Animal Rescue 656-1169

Ike

Breed: DSH white with orange markings

Sex: Male

Size: Large

Age: About 3 years

Ike is a super friendly, manly cat! He is very interactive with people, is ok with other cats and ok with dogs. I think he would be fine with children too but have no way of testing that as we seldom have children here but he certainly seems very easygoing and low maintenance. Ashton, (adopted) Demi and Bridget

Ashton, Demi and Bridget were born in early August sometime to a feral mom.  They were trapped in October and brought inside a home for the first time.  All of them are doing very well and they are all comfortable with friendly dogs.

Ashton is the bravest and friendliest of the three and will crawl into your lap for cuddles and sleep with you at night.  The girls are a little bit more shy but will still crawl into your lap for cuddles once they are comfortable with you.  Any one of them would do great as an only cat or they would make great companions for a cat you already have.

They would be best suited to a quieter home without small children.  Ashton and his sisters have all tested FIV/Flk negative and have had their first two vaccines.

Mighty Mouse

Mighty Mouse is the most majestic of all kitties we have ever had in our midst! He is very affectionate and friendly. He drools when he is happy. He probably would benefit from a lobster bib! He likes to lick faces and hands too.

Mighty Mouse has a huge frame but weighs only 16.5 pounds. He loves to sit in your lap, but you must either have a large lap or be in a large chair or sofa to accommodate his entire being.

Mighty Mouse is healthy and middle-aged. He does have a minor eye situation in that his little inner eyelids come in a bit. We have ointment from the vet that helps, but so long as his eyes are red it is not worrisome and probably just genetic.

He is a big cuddly guy who wants to be the king of his castle with no other cats. He feels he is “enough” for the right person. He has perfect litter box habits and is well behaved. He is a neutered male who has had shots and a vet check-up.

Mighty Mouse needs a total indoors adult home. The ideal place for him would be with a retired couple or single with lots of love and time to give to him. He does nap a few hours in the afternoon and could wait for someone to get home from work.

Because he would attempt to dart out the door, a home without children would be best since he is a total indoors cat. We are not sure how he would be with a dog, but he does prefer ALL the attention so best to place him in a home where he is the only pet.

These photos were taken at the home where he was being fed as a stray for many months after abandonment by a neighbor. He does NOT like wet cold weather and is happy to be indoors now.

Please see our website for an adoption application for at www.helpinghomelesscats.com.

Jenni and Sammi

Jenni(grey) and Sammi (striking tabby) are adorable and around 1-1/2 years of age now. Both Jenni and Sammi love pets and are pretty good with being picked up once they know someone.

Sammi is a real snuggler and loves getting cozy under blankets.  She purrs away as soon as she gets pets and will just lay there getting pets forever. Once in a while she will reach up so she can “pet” your hair back.  It’s pretty cute!  When she is the mood for being picked up she just goes limp, almost like a ragdoll and then purrs and rests her little face against yours.

Jenni is a little character. She really enjoys and loves belly rubs.  She runs to her scratch posts and jumps on top of it for pets, then lets out a cute little chirp.  She is so cute and and looks like a little bear walking around with her stubby tail.  She is a very active during play time, jumps way up in the air after the “feather on a stick”, but always lets her buddy Sammi have a turn too.

They are still shy with people they don’t know and hide out at first, but once they come around to you they are very friendly. The would take awhile to adjust to a new home and might be best in a foster or foster-to-adopt situation.

Jenni and Sammi require a very quiet indoors (nonsmoking) home without children or dogs but they are okay with other cats. Contact: Helping Homeless Cats

Livvy

Livvy is a black and white cat with medium to long hair.  She is a very sweet 8 year old female cat who is a bit shy and can be frightened by loud noises or sudden movements, so she will need a home with lots of patience to give Livvy the time to hide, get comfortable, and adjust to her new surroundings.  Once she does, Livvy is a very loving girl.  She likes to sleep on the bed each night, and greets her foster mom in the morning for cuddles.  She loves to be brushed and will just sit there and drool in pleasure!  She gets along quite well with the cats she currently lives with.  She is a bit on the chunky side, so does need a reducing food for a while until she gets her figure back.  Livvy is a very healthy girl, having just had a check up and shots.  She recently had dental done as well, so her teeth are shiny clean.  She would be best suited to a quieter, adult-only home with people that are going to give Livvy a stable home for the rest of her life.  If you’d like to meet Livvy and see if she could be a part of your family, please contact LuckyCatHaven@shaw.ca.

Tabatha

  1. Single, fun-loving female cat looking for a forever home with no other animals.  Hello my name is Tabatha and I am looking for a forever home who has the time to give me the attention I deserve.  I’m not high maintenance but I do like to be brushed and played with at least once a day.  I am an affectionate, fun-loving, beautiful brown tabby  who is about 1.5 to 2 years old.  On our first date, I may hide but once I get to know you, you will see my affectionate and fun-loving side.  My foster dad says I have a gentle soul.  If you would like to meet me, please e-mail LuckyCatHaven@shaw.ca

I look forward to meeting you.

Jaime

Hello my name is Jaime.  I was rescued by my foster parents earlier this year when I was pregnant.  With their help I was able to have my kittens indoors.  My kittens have been adopted and I am now waiting for my forever home.  I am a beautiful, gentle gray cat.  I was injured when I was young as I have an unusual gait but this doesn’t slow me down when its treat or play time.  My favourite time of the day is meal time. J  When I was rescued, I was struggling to get enough food so I was a little on the thin side, I’ve now filled out quite nicely.  To meet me, please contact my foster mom at LuckyCatHaven@shaw.ca.

Meowgi

Hello my name is Meowgi.  When I was in the care of the another animal rescue group, I was in an accident when I was 5 months old and the vet told my foster parents I was blind, may be brain damaged and had tested positive for feline leukemia.  My foster parents didn’t care, they took me home and gave me the loving I needed to heal.  After I was doing better, they took me to their own vet to get a second opinion:  it turned out I had a concussion and given my weaken immune system, my kitten blood tested positive for feline leukemia.  I am a fighter and I proved them wrong!   With my foster parents help I have been able to get my health and confidence back.  I am now an affectionate, fun-loving female cat looking for a forever home who loves black cats.  I have silky medium length thick hair and enjoy being brushed.  If you are looking for a cat who will be young forever and will love you unconditionally, that’s me!  To adopt me, please e-mail my foster mom at LuckyCatHaven@shaw.ca.

Bonnie

Breed: Manx X DMH
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: 6 years

Bonnie is a very sweet, very affectionate cat who will make a great companion for whomever adopts her. She can be a little shy when meeting new people but that never lasts long; she quickly learns to trust people and becomes a real cuddle bug. She enjoys hanging out with her people and follows them around wherever they go. She likes to be brushed, she likes to play on her scratch post, and she likes tosit on the couch and watch TV.

Bonnie is listed as a special-needs cat because she has a condition
called Megacolon; a condition where the motility in the colon is low,
making the pet prone to constipation. Bonnie was predisposed to this
condition at birth by being born as Manx breed cat. Although Megacolon
is a condition that will affect Bonnie for life, she is being managed
well with a diet specifically designed for Megacolon and a daily
medication that is sprinkled into her food. As long as Bonnie's new
family is dedicated to keeping her on her special diet and making sure
she gets her daily medication Bonnie should do very well.

Bonnie is currently waiting for either an adoptive home or a foster
home. If you are interested in adopting Bonnie but would like to try
fostering her for a period of time to make sure her needs fit with
your lifestyle, please ask us about our Foster-to-Adopt program.

Sketchy

Name: Sketchy
Breed: DSH
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: 9 years

Can you help Sketchy? This poor boy came to VPAS is rough shape but he
is doing much better now. He still has some health issues that we are
managing with medications and diet, but he's happy as a clam and would
love to find a home of his own (or preferably with his brother PK -
they are best friends.)

Sketchy is a real comedian. He is quite out-going and while he does
enjoy pats and head rubs, he's energetic and likes to play. Once
Sketchy is tired of playing and he's ready to relax he has the
loudest, most wonderful purr and he'll share it with you. Sketchy just
loves, loves, loves to eat and he'd do almost anything for his special
food (designed for sensitive stomachs.)

Sketchy has a form of IBD which means that he has a sensitive stomach.
To help keep Sketchy comfortable, he takes medications twice daily and
he eats a special food.

Despite his needs, Sketchy doesn't seem to know that he's any
different from the other cats and he is not suffering. Sketchy must be
an indoor only kitty so that the progress of his condition can be
monitored. He is used to other animals and older kids.

Sketchy is a sweet cat who is waiting patiently for someone to fall in
love with him and take them home. If you have room in your home and a
space in your heart to provide Sketchy (and PK) a forever home please
email us at victoriapets@gmail.com.

Tinky

Meet Tinky. She is a beautiful, feisty and energetic young cat who can't wait to find her forever home. She's had a very difficult start to life and she deserves to find a family that will provide her with lots of TLC for the rest of her life.

When Tinky was a few months old her leg got caught in the fan belt of a car engine and she almost lost her leg. Her bones were broken and her leg was cut very badly. She last spent the last few months with a splint on her leg and she has had to be confined to a kennel so that her leg could heal. Now that her leg is better she can't wait to find a home of her own.

Tinky has a lot of pent up energy from the months that she had to spent on cage rest while her leg was healing, so she has a lot of energy to burn off. She loves to play and to wrestle and to pounce on her toys. Because Tinky gets over-zealous when she's playing a home with children will not be appropriate for her. Her ideal home will be with someone who has had cats before and who can help her expel some of her energy with lots of play sessions and toys.

Tinky's leg has healed quite well but she may also have a bit of a limp because of her previous injuries. Therefore, it is extremely important that she go to a home where she will always be kept indoors only.

For more information about Tinky please contact us at victoriapets@gmail.com. She is a funny, happy-go-lucky girl who can't wait to settle into a new home.

Zed

Can you help Zed? Before she came to VPAS she spent the previous few
years (since a baby was born in her house) hiding under the bed, terrified. She could hardly even remember what it felt like to be ahappy cat, living in a comfortable home. Zed knows what she wants fromlife, and it's none of that mushy stuff. She doesn't want a huggy-kissy relationship, she just wants a quiet home where she canfeel safe and comfortable. Although Zed has been in a foster home for
the last few months where she's started to feel comfortable has had to learn to trust all over again. Therefore, Zed is for adoption to an
experienced home only.

Here is an update from Zed's foster dad:

She's out and about more, spends a lot of time in the living room now.
Hasn't hidden under a blanket in a couple of weeks. We're working on
the weight, and she's becoming more active and grooming more. She is
still skittish and can lash out when startled or when she decided
she's had 'enough attention' although again we've improved as she more
bats' than 'claws' for the most part unlike the first month or two.
At this point she is comfortable with me but will retreat to 'her' room if I have guests. She's got a foot fetish; she loves when I stroke her and wuffle her ears with my bare feet. No idea why. She's becoming a lap cat and will flop across me and purr. She'll also let me brush her when she's in my lap, and if I'm occupied and she wants attention she will reach out and pat my forearm or hand until I rub her ears and/or under her chin, which she enjoys. I wouldn't recommend
a house with children as she wants peace and quiet, and she seems to like being an only cat.

Zed needs a quiet, adult-only home with someone who has experience with cats who are recovering from a fearful life. She is independent and will be OK by herself for the day while her new parents are at work. Zed is terrified of dogs and children, but so far she seems tolerant of other cats.

If you have a quiet home and lots of love to give please inquire about
Zed. She is a beautiful girl who deserves a chance to start over and
begin to live life as a cat again.

This beautiful Siamese girl is Cherie. She and her sister, Samba,
recently had a major upset in their lives when their owner passed away
and left them behind. Now they're looking for a loving family to take
them in. Although both girls are from the same breeder and they have
grown up together they are not bonded and could be adopted either
together or separately.

Cherie has always lived with a senior couple, so she will be the most
comfortable in a similar environment. Therefore, her ideal home with
be with a single person or quiet couple who can provide her with a
safe and comfortable place to live. She will not be comfortable in a
home with children or with dogs. Cherie is an indoor-only cat.

Cherie has been in foster care for the last few months. Here is what
her foster mom says about her:

Cherie is quite active. She is using the cat-door to the cat enclosure
& is delighted to spend time in the safe, secure outside area. She has
met an older cat-friendly German Shepherd & also a friend's geriatric
mid-size dog in my home. Cherie shows no fear or hostility, she just
walks up & sniffs the dogs, so she can most likely live with a serene,
non-threatening, cat-savvy dog. She is active & engaging with
strangers who visit me, however she is terrified of little kids.
Cherie is a cuddly lap-cat, she likes to knead very softly & tuck her
face in the crook of your elbow & purr loudly. She will put her nose
right on your face. She's not a fan of being picked up & carried. She
sleeps in a scratch post cubby in my room at night, not on the bed.
Cherie is a lovely sweet girl.

If you'd like to learn more about Cherie & Samba please email us at
victoriapets@gmail.com; they are currently in foster care.

Samba

Meet Samba. She and her sister, Cherie, recently had a major upset in
their lives when their owner passed away and left them behind. Now they're looking for a loving family to take them in. Although both
girls are from the same breeder and they have grown up together they are not bonded and could be adopted either together or separately.

Samba is a shy senior girl who is learning to adjust to life outside of her previous home. Although she gets nervous of new surroundings, she has been doing well considering everything she has been through. She has met several new people and cats and so far she's become comfortable with them fairly quickly.

Samba has always lived with a senior couple, so she will be the most comfortable in a similar environment. Therefore, her ideal home with be with a single person or quiet couple who can provide her with a safe and comfortable place to live. She will not be comfortable in a home with children or with dogs. Samba is an indoor-only cat.

Samba has been in foster care for the last few months. Here is what Samba's foster mom says about her:

Samba is settling in really well & she is a lap cat, but she is quitewith new situations & sounds. Samba is vocal about being moved or carried but she is totally docile. She does not seek out visitors to my home, but will chat & accept petting from friendly adults who seek her out. Samba is terrified of kids. She has observed the dog from upstairs, but does not show fear or curiosity to have any closer encounter. Samba likes her beauty rest & she sleeps on my bed (along with 2 other cats) at night. Samba is a cuddly lap cat but she is very sensitive to scolding. Samba is a lovely, sweet girl.

Molly

Hi. My name is Molly and I’m an affectionate, small, spayed tabby just under a year of age. I love people! I like petting even though I’m a little nervous at first around new people. Petting feels very good and I would like to get a lot more of it. I don’t want to be picked up by people, but don’t you agree with me! Would you like someone to pick you up, dangle you in the air, and then put you in their lap?! However, I must admit that my roommate Scout, a big gentle tabby who needs a home too, does like it very much with people he knows. He seems to have a good time when sitting in a lap, so I’m going to give it more thought before ruling it out.

I have nice sunny bay windows to sit in and watch the rabbits and birds in the yard. I like being safe indoors. My mom was a struggling single mom and worked hard to be sure we all had food and shelter when we were babies. She took us to a carport out of the rain and the people there fed her, gave us bedding, and kept us going until they connected with the rescue . That was almost a year ago. Now I’m happy to be indoors only!

My mother is Amelia Earhart who was adopted. I have three siblings. My sister Buttons (renamed Lily): was adopted by the same people who adopted our mom. She has a great life. I envy her and wish I had a good home like that. I have two other siblings. Sammi (a girl) is in a wonderful foster home with Jenny (another nice young girl). My brother Paulo is a wild boy who likes cats not people yet.

I look back on those times and wonder how we ever made it. My mom, Amelia, deserves a lot of credit. We are all very healthy and happy. However, Sammi and I would be much happier if we had homes like Lily’s. Lily’s people mom sends photos and I love the one where they are snuggling in a big pink chair. If a permanent home isn’t available, I would be happy to have a foster home like Sammi’s. We get photos from her , too, and she is having a lot of fun with Jenny and her nice foster family.

Someday I’ll have a big chair and nice family or person of my own, I hope. Contact: Helping Homeless Cats

Ziggy

My name is Ziggy and I love other cats. I like people too if they are gentle with me. Once I get to know someone I can be a big cuddler and sit in a lap a long time. I’ve been told I do have a feisty tom cat side if “overstimulated”, whatever that means. I guess they are referring to the occasional swipe I take at someone who is too frisky with me. I heard someone mention that discipline may be needed. Supposedly a little swipe or bite isn’t welcomed by those outside the animal kingdom.

I’m a big tabby male, sort of a Morris type but longer and slinkier. I’m sweet and gentle and only a little bit nervous. I need time to get to know someone. I get along well with other cats, but especially the ladies. I have a lot of girl friends here at the rescue who rotate through my cat bed. I’m the Don Juan of Helping Homeless Cats. I have gained quite a reputation on our Facebook page!

I would love to get a foster home where I can enjoy a lot more lap time and get more petting (and treats!). I would like a home with another cat or two as roommates – so long as there are no bullies. I’m social and the mellow cats do gravitate towards me. It’s okay with me, although I can also enjoy some alone time for long naps, such as when someone is at work all day.

I had a rough time before rescue out in Sooke but I don’t want to talk about those hard times. That’s history. I don’t want to be outdoors again which was very scary when I was fending off predators and looking for food. Now I lead the cushy indoors life. I do require a big comfy cat bed on a big people bed for my long naps. Do you have one of those to share with me?

I am neutered and my health is superb. I am an ideal weight for my large handsome frame. I have a very thoughtful and serious face and I like eye contact with people. I will be happy to listen to you and be your best friend. I need a calm person who understands I need lap time as well as a little space and also another cat friend to share my life. Cherie

Breed: Siamese
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: 12 years

UPDATED bio for Cherie:

This beautiful Siamese girl is Cherie. She and her sister, Samba, recently had a major upset in their lives when their owner passed away and left them behind. Now they're looking for a loving family to take
them in. Although both girls are from the same breeder and they have
grown up together they are not bonded and could be adopted either
together or separately.

Cherie has always lived with a senior couple, so she will be the most
comfortable in a similar environment. Therefore, her ideal home with
be with a single person or quiet couple who can provide her with a comfortable place to live. She will not be comfortable in a home with children or with dogs.

Sasha

Do you work full-time and aren’t at home much? That would be perfect! Are you single with a busy life but want to cuddle up with someone special at night? For me this would be a match made in heaven!

First, I’m gorgeous with nice golden tabby markings. I’m middle-aged, spayed, and healthy. I’m charming company (but need time to ease into a relationship) and then like lots of chin rubs, massages and petting – and with someone who knows and understands me, I will sit in their lap. I would like to lie on you or beside you on the couch or in bed. However, sometimes if I’m not in a good mood I can get a little snappy. But aren’t we all like that sometimes?

I do not like other cats or children and prefer to be with one quiet person or couple in a nonsmoking total indoors home. I’m confident, very intelligent, gentle, and have an interesting personality. I like to rub by people’s legs and like to be petted if approached gently and slowly. I have a strong “cat” personality whereby I set the terms for when we’ll cuddle – but I’m worth it – and sleep time with a nice lady is my best comfort zone!

My last foster mom was a nice lady who worked all day and I really loved being with her but she moved across the country and couldn’t take me. She was very sad as she seriously wanted to adopt me. I’m really hoping I can find another quiet and loving foster home or forever home soon. My nights now are very lonely…

Fostering for “Helping Homeless Cats” means they provide all food, litter and other supplies. I’m very healthy but if I ever need a vet they will take me to theirs. There is no time commitment either. Please see Helping Homeless Cats for more info on fostering. Let’s try it and then see if we want to spend our lives together…

Sassy is adopted

Jonah

Breed: DSH black and white male

Age:       About two years

Size:       Medium

Jonah was so scared when he arrived at CCAR from the CRD Pound. He didn’t know what to expect and hid for a few days until he was sent to a foster home with two young ladies and there he blossomed. He turned into a loving boy, a little reserved around strangers but would sit on the girls’ laps or beside them. He had to come back to me (Beverly) as the foster home is out of town for about 3 weeks but they are keen to have this lovely fellow back if he is still available when they return to Victoria. I think that says a lot for how sweet this boy is.

Jonah is a Cats Cradle Animal Rescue boy and if you're interested in finding out more about him, phone Joan at 250 656-1169

PK

PK came to VPAS in rough condition. He had been neglected and it showed. When he arrived at VPAS he was very skinny, he was covered in fleas, and he was missing much of his hair (a side effect of the flea infestation.) Now that he's in our care PK is doing much better.

PK is a quiet boy who enjoys attention and will sit and cuddle with you for long periods of time. He has a great purr and he isn't shy about using it when he's relaxing. He is rather food motivated and although he can't have treats, he really enjoys eating his food (designed for sensitive stomachs.) PK gets a medication by mouth every day to help with his sensitive stomach. The cost of his medication is less than $20/month.

If you'd like to learn more about PK, please email us at victoriapets@gmail.com.

Amber

A permanent, loving home is all Amber has wanted since her previous owner passed away last year. She is sweet, quiet, and clean, and is wondering why no one has come to take her home. Amber can be a little shy when meeting new people but hopefully no one will hold that against her because once you spend some time with her she really comes out of her shell.

Amber has the most beautiful green eyes and dark glossy coat. She has a little bit of a belly but she’s been working on her physique to make herself as stunning as possible so that she has the best chance of catching someone’s eye.

If you are looking for a beautiful new friend to share your life with please email us at victoriapets@gmail.com and ask about Amber; she is currently in foster care, but has been waiting patiently for a home and deserves to find one soon.
