Look at us Now
Come and have a Look At Us Now with our new forever families. Thanks for the new start. Our paws, tails a/o wings salute you!
Jackson |
Darwin has been renamed Jackson to give him a totally fresh start to his new life in his "forever" home with us. He has settled in nicely and and we could'nt ask for a better dog! Our first vet check revealed that he had gained 5lb. in the month he was in his foster home and we are very grateful to Crystal and Jay for taking such good care of him while he was in their care. He is getting along well with Arthur and our 2 cats Simon and Quinton and has loved meeting all his extended family over Christmas. He recieved new squeeky toys and chew bones from his Grandma and Aunts and Uncles so was very pleased about the whole thing. Al and I walk the dogs at the Uvic dog park every morning which is a total highlight to the beginning of each day for Jackson. He can hardly contain his excitment when we get our coats on! Tomorrow is another first with his first trip to our cabin at Boat harbour which will include morning walks through the woods to the ocean. I expect he may be encouraged to wade into the ocean with Arthur which will be fun to watch. Thanks again for all the great work you do to benefit these animals until the right home can be found. We are so fortunate to have found our wonderful new dog through you. |

Torbin |
Torbin is doing awesome. He loves to go on long (really long!) walks, knawing on his 'babies' (stuffies), throwing acorns around the backyard, chasing squirrels, and his new dog buddy Sammi. He's always eager to please and did very well in his training classes. He is a perfect fit for our family and we are so happy to have him with us. Thank you to Victoria Adoptables and Laura for helping our family find the perfect dog! |

We wanted to give you an update on our Norah who we adopted from you on Dec 7/06. She is the love of our life and we still cannot believe someone abandoned her. We have since moved to NB and Norah & our other cat, Baboo, 17yrs, are still one big happy family. Thank you for giving us one of our greatest gifts in life! |

My husband and I adopted Charlie (formerly "Dougal") from the CRD pound back in February. When we adopted him, he was very overweight, lethargic and sad...it turned out he had hypothyroidism. We took him to the vet and got him on medication (in addition to tons of love, cuddles and walks). Now he is a healthy, shiny boy with tons of energy (and weighs a trim 98lbs!). He loves to swim, play fetch and is such a wonderful guy. He is a cherished member of our little family - many thanks to the folks at CRD for helping us find Charlie!! We love our dog! |

We adopted Coco from Care Collars rescue on the Victoria Adoptables site in early November of 2006. He is a great dog. He is 1 1/2 years old and already weighs 110lbs. He is very well mannered (all though he is taking obedience classes). This dog does not bark! Wow. We could go on and on about our beautiful boy. Coco is so happy with his new family, and is going to stay with us no matter what for the rest of his life. Thank you for bringing him into our lives. |

Tess was adopted from GVAC on Good Friday and quickly formed a loving and trusting relationship with her new mom. Tess's favorite pastime is going for long walks and playing at the "doggy beach" at Thetis lake. Tess has really come out of her 'shell' over the past couple of months. She is no longer afraid of men that are wearing baseball caps. She eagerly greets new dogs, however is still a little timid when there is more than one, and she loves to chase children around in circles. Tess is an absolute joy, and I am grateful to have her in my life. |

Thanks to Haisha and Tim's great rescue work, our empty dog spot was refilled with a wonderful puppy mutt Sable, formerly Nellie. Sable now a young adult, is also fondly known as the Love Bun and Propeller Butt. She enjoys her adventure days with her play group, vacationing up island, car rides, and sunbathing on our bed. She regularly hangs out with 2 of her siblings as they frequent the same dog park. This spring we added Zoe, formerly Jackie, to our family. Sable is the greatest big sister and buddy. They frolick like mad and Sable ensures Zoe also minds her manners. Our girls are snuggly and fun loving enjoying the couch sitting activities when not at the park. Thanks to the rescue for saving our girls so we could bring them home |

We adopted Biggles in Feb 07 from Haisha @ Nana Foundation and he has found his forever home at last. He shares our home with his Great Dane sister and ShepX brother, and everyone loves each other. Obedience classes began for him several weeks ago and he is doing great. His favorite things are car trips anywhere, but especially Beaver lake with his brother, and running and playing at home. He is a delightful guy. |

"We adopted Quilo in August 2006 from the Nana foundation. We named him Quilo, short for the Spanish word Tranquilo, meaning tranquil or serene, since as a puppy he was very calm. Soon after taking him home, his energy level picked up significantly and he now seems to have an endless supply. |

Ben and his siblings were born at the StreetLink shelter and thankfully were taken under the wing of the Animal Crusaders. Ben is a happy little fellow who has quickly become adjusted to his new siblings, 6 cats, 3 rabbits and another dog. He is also proving himself to be a kind and gentle fellow with the foster animals passing through his new home. Ben, like his brother Charley, enjoys wearing cool hats! |
