About Rosie...

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION IN NANAIMO: Rosie a sweet and gentle girl who was found stray in April and is finally ready to find a new home. She weighs about 77 pounds and we estimate her age to be about 5 years. She is a quiet girl with good manners. Rosie is crazy for sticks and balls and dreams of playing fetch all day long. As long as she gets her exercise, she is a very calm dog and is happy laying around with her people between walks and fetching. Prior to coming to the pound, Rosie was obviously overbred. She is done being a mom and will be happiest in a home without other dogs so all the attention can be on her. She has not reacted to the cats at the pound at all but we don’t know if she has ever shared a home with one. She does want to chase deer and rabbits while out on hikes so will need to be kept leashed until recall is developed with her new owner and she will be best suited to a fenced property. Rosie has recently been through several surgeries to remove broken teeth and benign mammary masses. She has been very patient during her healing process and we are excited that she can now live happily ever after! If her new family resides within the City of Nanaimo, they must be prepared to gain Canine Good Neighbour certification with Rosie so that she can be exempt from any breed specific legislation. Rosie’s adoption fee is $255 and she has been spayed, microchipped, deflead, and comes with a voucher for a free vet visit. If you are interested in meeting Rosie, please visit her at the pound at 1260 Nanaimo Lakes Rd between 10 – 4 Mon – Fri or 10 – 3 on Saturday.
