Truman was adopted in 2018 and has come back into care. There were young kids in his previous home and he was struggling in an environment where there were stuffed animals and large food items that he could steal and protect. For everyone’s safety it was decided that a home without kids and the items that come with them is best.
Truman has some struggles with guarding, handling, and over-excitement/arousal which has led to some bite/nip incidents. Learning dog body language or some knowledge in this area will be great a great start for Truman’s success. He will need a dedicated person(s) who has previous dog experience, and are eager to learn more with the help of our team and wonderful trainers! He can be cuddly and affectionate but requires patience and calmness. Truman takes treats gently and loves to do tricks. He also loves chuck-it and tug of war, and plays with these toys without issue.
Truman is very engaging, eager to learn, housebroken, and likes his crate.
Truman needs a special family to give this boy another chance. We think he would be a great dog to learn scent work, agility, or trick training with. In the right home he will thrive!
He also seems to loooove men. He is a guy’s guy and would love a male adventure buddy if possible!
